| Kwantlen Polytechnic University says that it plans to introduce a new slate of scholarships that judge candidates by a broad portfolio rather than academics and letter grades, reports Peace Arch News. KPU instructor David Burns is the primary investigator with the Kwantlen Educational Policy Incubator, which has partnered with the Surrey School District to develop a framework for accepting high school portfolios for postsecondary admission. The plan is to have the portfolios either enhance or completely replace grade-based applications. The university and the district will now work with six current high school students to develop sample portfolios that will be used for admission to KPU in September 2018.
