The Nicola Valley Institute of Technology has announced a hybrid approach to educational delivery for the 2020-2021 year. NVIT faculty are currently preparing to teach in hybrid environments, classrooms are being equipped with technology to support hybrid learning, and the school’s student services department is exploring and developing virtual appointment bookings, tutoring services, and proctoring applications. The institute is also considering implementing a variety of safety measures that include monitoring the health of employees and students, developing procedures for cleaning and sterilization, and moving the NVIT’s Elders’ Council to online support only. “The health and safety of our employees and students is the first priority,” said NVIT President Ken Tourand.
