Concordia University of Edmonton has officially opened the McNeil Centre for Applied Renewable Energy. The new centre, which is named after alumnus Cam McNeil, aims to advance Canada’s adoption of renewable energy technologies and will focus primarily on communities in Alberta. The McNeil Centre will raise awareness about renewable energy technology-related opportunities, conduct workshops to support the adoption of technology, develop programs based on industry needs, and help with renewable energy planning. “Alberta is Canada’s energy leader, and this centre will be a hub to learn, explore, and discover, so that we can create a future that is cleaner and more sustainable,” said Concordia Edmonton President Dr Tim Loreman.
