Carolyn Russell is the Associate Vice-President International Education at Vancouver Island University

 

 


 Carolyn Russell is the Associate Vice-President International Education at Vancouver Island University and leads the University’s recruitment and admissions of international students; the promotion of student success; the provision of relevant supports for international students; and oversight of international partnerships, global engagement and internationalization activities, and international mobility. She collaborates with colleagues across campus engaged in global activities to harness resources, streamline existing processes and develop more strategic approaches to support students, faculty and staff in their globally focused work.

Carolyn holds a graduate degree in Public Administration from the University of Victoria and a bachelor degree in International Studies from the University of Northern British Columbia. She has worked in the British Columbia international education sector for over twenty years.

Carolyn received the 2012 BC Council for International Education (BCCIE) Award for Service Excellence in International Education and currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE).

• Designing, implementing and evaluating programs to facilitate the adjustment, achievement, retention and career planning of university students in their first and ensuing years of study.
