His Excellency Robert Michael Sabga

VICE CHAIRMAN (CANADA)

H.E. Robert Sabga is a seasoned and experienced professional with a solid university, business, and public service background, and boasts a global network of contacts that includes prominent industrialists and sitting and former Heads of State and government Officials. He is a former policy advisor and senior diplomat, serving with distinction from 1997-2002 as the High Commissioner for the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago to Canada. He has served as Chairman and/or an executive member of several committees and advisory bodies in both the business community and government. A life member of the World Society of Victimology, he was a practicing therapist specializing in working with the victims of violence and trauma, with additional expertise in industrial and educational psychology and human resource management. He was an active member of several community and social action groups, an advisor to several NGO and governmental organizations, was credited with developing the blueprint of the social services delivery system for the government he served, maintains an active interest in Aboriginal affairs, and is a past newspaper columnist. He is a part-time professor, and has taught victimology and crisis counselling techniques at Algonquin College in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. He is no stranger to medium and large enterprise executive management, has managed teams of up to 150 people in highly computerized environments, and is himself technologically knowledgeable and extremely computer literate. He is a keen and incisive multi-purpose negotiator, and during his diplomatic Career has led or co-led many official delegations to inter-governmental and multinational Fora on behalf of his Government. He is an innovator and a motivator, a powerful and erudite orator, is currently working on humanitarian and economic development projects with special emphasis on West Africa, and is intimately familiar with China and several Countries in the Middle East.
