In 1964, a young visionary, suffused with the fervour of nationalism, left a lucrative career and stepped into the realm of education to establish The Tagore Education Society. Founded by Dr. (Mrs.) Hari Sen and Mr. Jitender Sen, the society adopted three goals: academic excellence, the spirit of innovation and the zeal to impart value-based education.

Tagore Schools have left indelible footprints on the sands of time. The journey began with a small school in Lajpat Nagar in the year 1964. The Tagorean emblem is the interplay of three letters: T I S. The central ‘I’ is the leaping flame of the candle, signifying everlasting knowledge. It is enclosed by ‘T’ which forms the arms and legs of the child who is never tired in his quest for this ‘Vidya’ or knowledge. Like the light of the candle, the child is continuously striving to reach for the stars, denoted by the letter ‘S’.

The school has adopted the motto, “Aham Yogyaha Asmi” or “I am worthy “. This is a positive self-realisation and this belief guides the student on the path of true knowledge. It helps a child to evolve as a confident, multi-faceted human being.
