The Government of Canada has announced that it is investing $10M to recruit, train, and mentor 2,000 energy advisors and support the retrofitting of 700,000 homes. The energy advisors will support the Canada Greener Homes Grant by providing EnerGuide home evaluations to homeowners, helping them understand how to improve their house’s energy efficiency, and aid the homeowner in making changes that will offer the best return for their investments. Carleton University’s Efficiency Canada, which has benchmarked the number of energy advisors in Canada and worked to promote energy advisor careers, was a part of the announcement. The announcement included a call for proposals from partners to help develop the energy efficiency workforce.
